Exec position: VP external
Throughout my professional training, I’ve had many opportunities to engage in discussions on mental health; longitudinal family medicine observerships, clinical psychiatric assessments, and a volunteering placement with a community organization serving mothers in precarious living situations. Currently I am involved in general clinical rotations in the hospital setting.
Collaborative mental healthcare has an interdisciplinary connotation. It implies a multi-faceted approach to mental health at many levels:
1- professional level for those offering patient-specific care
2- academic level for those investigating the molecular basis of mental health and our understanding of the psychosocial model within which it operates
3- social level: for those involved in policy development and guideline decision-making

Although I am still unsure of my ultimate career choice, I am committed to the ongoing learning that’s needed to provide informed and comprehensive care. I am interested in the role technology can play in improving accessibility of mental healthcare services to the population without compromising care quality and I look forward to engaging with colleagues in offering a holistic approach to our patients.
