About CMH

The McGill Student Association for Collaborative Mental Healthcare creates interdisciplinary and non-hierarchal spaces for future mental healthcare workers, administrators and researchers to come together and enhance their understanding of mental healthcare. Students from fields such as nursing, social work, psychology, neuroscience, anthropology, occupational therapy, public health, medicine and cultural psychiatry meet every two weeks to exchange perspective and learn from one another.  Collaborative learning occurs through interdisciplinary case-study work, popular media and journal article discussions, brainstorming activities and workshops led by guest speakers. Topics include: utility and development of interdisciplinary professional networks, current collaborative care models and systemic barriers, cultural competency, and integration of interventions from various fields, such as psychopharmacological treatments and psychotherapy. CMH serves as a fun hub for students to gather, generate research questions, exchange clinical tools, establish professional networks and reimagine the healthcare system.

The CMH community is a welcoming, inclusive and open group. All who are interested are invited to attend and partake in educational, networking and advocacy events and initiatives.
