Dakota Goodale

BScN

Hey all! My name is Dakota Goodale and I am a U1 BScN student here at McGill. This is my first year as a CMH core member. I have most of my clinical experience with mental healthcare through my job in a long-term care facility caring for patients who suffer with Dementia/Alzheimer’s and delirium. My current clinical experience is in the Postpartum unit working with mothers’ who may be coping with Postpartum depression. What collaborative mental healthcare means to me is coming together, with other healthcare professionals, to join perspectives and knowledge to innovate ways of making healthcare settings and interactions more attuned to those who need mental healthcare services. I aspire to get my master’s degree, post-undergrad, and then to obtain my PhD. I would like to one day have a meaningful career in healthcare, perhaps specialized in mental health, and provide compassionate, quality care in my role.
