Hi! My name is Ruo and I am a fourth-year undergraduate student at McGill pursuing a Bachelor’s of Arts (Honours) in Psychology with a minor in Computer Science. I am passionate about mental health advocacy, especially when it comes to stigma, accessibility to services for minority groups and immigrants, and cross-cultural differences in diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders. After my BA, I plan on pursuing graduate studies in clinical or counselling psychology with a focus on these topics. 

 

This year, I joined CMH because I wanted get myself involved further within the McGill community, as well as meeting other passionate students and future mental health workers/researchers. Moreover, haven had multiple research experiences across different departments at McGill, including Psychology, Educational and Counselling Psychology and Psychiatry, I believe that increasing collaboration across fields is crucial for enhancing understanding about and innovation in mental health. I am excited to be part of the team to exchange ideas, learn about interdisciplinary work and get inspired by my peers!
