Marjolaine Rivest-Beauregard

MSc Psychiatry

My name is Marjolaine and I am a second-year MSc student in the department of Psychiatry. I have gained most of my mental health experience and knowledge through my undergraduate studies in Psychology at Concordia University, and through my studies in psychological trauma at McGill University. I have been exposed to and studied the many potential psychological consequences of a traumatic event, and more specifically posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and adjustment disorder (AD). To me, collaborative mental healthcare means that people from multiple disciplines join forces to discuss mental health, identify various problems and barriers, and find inclusive solutions to ensure its access. My long-term goal is to generate knowledge, through psychiatric research, that will enable mental health policy makers and providers to efficiently deliver prevention and treatment programs to individuals at-risk or suffering from trauma- and stressor-related disorders.
