Jocelyne Whitehead
PhD Integrated Program in Neuroscience
As a researcher with career aspirations beyond academia, my involvement with CMH is rooted in the need for a better understanding of the shortfalls that exist within the current system of mental healthcare in Canada. The interdisciplinary flow of knowledge is critical for developing therapies and treatments that are both effective and sustainable, and that can be modified for systems of care in low-income countries. My background in Neuroscience and International Development Studies is dotted with a series of alternative research projects that collectively work to diversify my perspective in Global Mental Health, with my current work concentrated in Affective and Cognitive Neuroscience.
