Megan Per

MA Counselling Psychology

Hello! My name is Megan Per and I previously worked over two years at an inpatient mental health and addictions rehabilitation centre at Coast Mental Health in Vancouver, B.C. This first-hand experience led me to pursue a deeper understanding of mental illness which ultimately led me to McGill and CMH. The ability to collaborate with professionals on mental health various backgrounds allows the valuable opportunity to merge knowledge and expertise. Currently, I am in my second year in the Masters in Counselling Psychology at McGill University. I am a member of the McGill Mindfulness Research Lab (MMRL) and I am interested examining the effectiveness of mindfulness-based interventions in clinical populations. Currently, my master’s research explores the relationship between mindfulness, self-compassion, and emotions in understanding why individuals self-injure.
