MSc Psychiatry
Executive Position: VP External
Although I have always been passionate about mental health, my aspiration to become a researcher and clinician in the field was solidified during my undergrad at McGill, where I completed a degree in psychology honours. I am currently completing an MSc in Psychiatry at McGill, where I am privileged to work with individuals suffering from eating disorders at the Douglas Hospital under the supervision of Drs. Howard Steiger and Lea Thaler. My thesis examines the epigenetic mechanism of DNA methylation in Anorexia, with a focus on micronutrients and environmental factors such as childhood trauma. I am currently in the process of applying to clinical psychology programs and am eager to continue my training in becoming a psychologist. Joining CMH has been a highly rewarding experience and I look forward to our meetings weekly. CMH reminds me to remain open-minded, collaborative and non-biased. I am inspired by my fellow members who speak candidly and provide insights I would otherwise miss out on. It has been a pleasure serving as VP external and I can't wait for our upcoming events!
