Ellie Wakabayashi
Family Medicine
I am a first year master student in the department of family medicine, with the specialization in Bioethics. My studies in health care related fields has demonstrated to me that strong mental health is integral to maximizing human potential.
My research interests is in the multi-faced complexities of euthanasia and the role physicians and families play in the decision making at the end-of-life. I am specifically interested in the dignity with death movement and the ethics related to the patient-physician relationship.
I am currently, the graduate student representative for the Canadian Bioethics Society
In the future, I would like to work as a clinical bioethicist in a large hospital or stay in academia to teach bioethics courses. The novel perspectives and multi-disciplinary approach that CMH offers will be valuable in helping me grow as both an aspiring academic and person.
