Alexa Cirillo

MSc OT

My name is Alexa Cirillo and I am a first-year Master’s Student studying Occupational Therapy at McGill University. I joined CMH because I was interested in learning about mental health and mental illness from other McGill students in various health-professions and disciplines. Collaborative mental health care is all about bringing people together from various disciplines and health care professions in order to work together to improve mental health care and raise awareness about mental health issues. I have previous experience working with people living with mental illness (depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder) and I am currently working in the community sector with people living with HIV, substance use issues, and people affected by homelessness. In the future, I hope to work with marginalized populations and I am particularly interested in working in the field of addictions and substance use.
